Style 1 Parlour Guitar – Neil Kilgour Tribute
This guitar was made for my close friend and brilliant engineer Neil Kilgour who sadly passed away in 2015 before this guitar could be completed. Neil shared with me and many others his ingenuity, engineering skills, and friendship. This guitar is a tribute to him and the generosity of spirit he shared with so many people.
Designed to achieve a rich sound with ample low-end response for the guitars’ small size but, with clarity and purity of each note from the nut to the fretboard end. Based on a traditional Size 1 13″ shape, the body depth, sound hole diameter and bracing were adjusted to achieve the desired result. Other subtle touches were the unique bridge shape, elongated headstock and curves introduced to the fretboard end, bridge and head.
This guitar is exclusively featured on a CD with performances by a number of Neil’s favourite guitarists and friends.
All proceeds raised ( OVER $10000) from CD sales were donated to the Australian Cancer Research Foundation in Neils’ name.
